As preparations for the forthcoming elections intensify, more groups in Rivers State, South-South Nigeria have indicated interest to work for the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The groups numbering over 70 said their decision to support Atiku Abubakar was based on his antecedents and the supremacy of the party.

Spokesman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation in Rivers State, Lelonu Nwibubasa during a media briefing described the emergence of the Vice Presidential candidate of the party, Ifeanyi Okowa as an honour to the South-South going by his track records in leadership.
They further alleged that they have uncovered a plot by some mischief makers to mobilise thugs on branded T-shirts that will go about destroying billboards belonging to Rivers State PDP candidates and to blame it on Atiku supporters while calling on the police to be on the look out.
