In continuation of its investigation into a suspected child-stealing and human trafficking syndicate, the Oyo State Police Command has rescued four additional children who were previously stolen and sold.
The rescue follows the earlier recovery of seventeen children and the arrest of the principal suspect, Adejoke Popoola, also known as Orente Alagbo, whose interrogation provided fresh leads after parents who saw the earlier rescue video came forward.
Operatives recovered three-year-old Taiwo Olamilekan from Akoka, Lagos, on September 3; Aleemi Omogoriola Okuleye from Ikorodu, Lagos, on September 8; and nine-year-old Adeyinka Ayomide and two-year-old Adeyinka Gold from Agbor, Delta State, on September 14.
The children have been verified and reunited with their parents.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, has directed the team to sustain the investigation to rescue other victims and bring all persons involved to justice.
