Edo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has denounced the suspension of the 18 local council chairmen and their deputies as announced by the State House of Assembly over allegations of gross misconduct, insubordination and corruption levied against them by Governor, Monday Okpebholo.

Chairman of the State PDP Caretaker Committee, Anthony Aziegbemi while addressing Journalists on the state of political and governance affairs in Edo State noted with dismay what he describes as a blatant disregard for the rule of law by the All Progressives Congress, APC led administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo.

Aziegbemi alleges that a lot is still being done to ensure that the LG chairmen elected under the platform of the PDP are removed from office unlawfully despite the stance of the President Tinubu-led Federal Government on Local Government autonomy and several court rulings including that of the Supreme Court.

He also cautioned banks over an alleged plot to change signatories to the local councils accounts.

The party wants all well meaning Nigerians including the President, Judiciary, and security agencies, to urgently intervene and restore order and the rule of law in Edo State.
