The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has conducted fresh primary elections in Ekiti Central and Ekiti North Senatorial Districts, following a recent court judgement.
The two primary elections were conducted between Saturday evening and Sunday morning in the respective Senatorial districts. In Ekiti Central, Lateef Ajijola polled 192 votes to defeat Kayode Ojo who polled 43 votes. And In his acceptance speech, Lateef Ajijola promised to work for the victory of the party in the 2023 general election.
In Ekiti North, Funso Ayeni polled 164 votes to defeat Kehinde Agboola who scored seven votes.

Ayeni said the PDP represents the last hope of the Nigerian masses.
Meanwhile, members of the PDP in Ekiti State have vowed to ensure victory for the party in the 2023 general election. Party leaders say the unity displayed by aspirants in the primary election will help galvanise support for PDP ahead of the elections.
