The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP says it has petitioned security agencies, including the Police and the Department of State Services, DSS over what it describes as alleged impersonation by some persons involved in the formation of a purported interim National Working Committee of the party.

PDP National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, made this known while responding to questions during a briefing at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Anyanwu says those to be invited by security agencies include former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BoT, Adolphus Wabara, Kabiru Turaki, and other members linked to what it describes as controversial meeting held at the Shehu Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, where the interim PDP NWC was announced and constituted.

The PDP leadership also dismissed claims of confusion surrounding the Certified True Copy, CTC of the recent Supreme Court judgement relating to the party’s leadership tussle, insisting that the apex court’s decision was clear and unambiguous.

Anyanwu maintained that the only recognised PDP leadership is the one led by Abdulrahaman Mohammed, stressing that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had already verified the current NWC.

The party also distanced itself from a purported alliance involving the Allied Peoples Movement, APM and a gathering held in Ibadan, Oyo State accusing Governor Seyi Makinde of deception, saying that the party is not in any agreement or arrangement with the APM or any other political group.
