The Plateau State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has raised an alarm over the sudden disappearance of its Jos South Chairman, Dung Tari.
The state Chairman of the Party Chris Hassan While Addressing Journalists in Jos alleged that Dung Tari was abducted by some Men in military uniform around 1:30 pm after a meeting with his Executive Committee members at the party’s Secretariat in the Bukuru area of Jos South.
The report has invoked elements of fear and tension in the state. It has been three weeks since his abduction.
According to the State PDP Chairman Chris Hassan, there has been no information from him or his abductors.
The Party appealed to the National Security Adviser, the Inspector General of Police, Chief of Army Staff and the Director General of the DSS to intervene in the matter .
The wife of the Missing Party Chieftain Esther Tari, who also added her voice to the call for the immediate release of her husband said life has not been the same since his abduction.
But in a swift reaction, the spokesman for the military taskforce in charge of maintaining peace in Plateau, Captain James Oya, denied any involvement of it’s personnel and challenged the PDP to come forward with evidence of their allegations saying those who carried out the abduction may have used their uniform because the command has been parading suspects using vehicles, camouflage and other military items to commit crime.
