The Plateau State PDP flag bearer in the March 11 2023 Governorship election, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has suspended campaign activities with immediate effect following an accident that claimed the lives of some supporters.
A truck conveying supporters of the Party who were returning from Pankshin after the Atiku/Mutfwang rally had crashed, leading to the death of some supporters while some others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

In a statement signed by Yiljap Abraham, Director of Media and Publicity Atiku-Okowa, Mutfwang-Piyo Campaign Council Plateau State, the decision was taken after due consultation to suspend all campaign activities with immediate effect to further demonstrate his grief and as a mark of honour to the PDP members who were involved in the ghastly road accident on Saturday.
The Candidate also asked that intense prayers be offered for divine comfort for families and individuals who are bereaved and healing of the injured.
The mostly young victims were conveyed in a heavy-duty vehicle that overturned on their way back after the Atiku/Mutfwang rally near the Panyam bridge, along Mangu Council area of Plateau State.
