The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said that the signing into law of the Petroleum Industry Bill, PIB, by President Muhammadu Buhari may not guarantee the desired stability in the Niger Delta Region.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbodiyan, the party holds that the new law only authenticates the fact that the APC-led federal government has no iota of respect for Nigerians and as well as the tenets of democracy as a system of government.

The PDP noted that the President could have returned the bill to the National Assembly with the respect that it is made to address the demands of the oil-producing communities.

The PDP also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to salvage the Situation by immediately forwarding an amendment bill to the National Assembly to reflect the true wishes and aspirations of every segment of the nation.
