Two incumbent senators in Plateau State have lost their bids to return to the Red Chamber, while four out of eight members of the House of Representatives also failed to secure tickets in the APC primaries.
Announcing the results at the APC Secretariat in Jos, Chairman of the Plateau State APC Electoral Committee, Stella Okotete, described the primaries as free, fair, and credible.
After a tense contest in the All Progressives Congress Senate and House of Representatives primaries in Plateau State, winners and losers have emerged.
In the Senate race, former Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong was the only incumbent senator to secure a return ticket, while Diket Plang lost to Barji David and Simon Mwadkwon succumbed to Gyang Mwadkwon
The House of Representatives primaries also produced major upsets, with former lawmakers Beni Lar and Dachung Bagos clinching tickets to make a return to the Green Chamber after losing their seats in 2023 through tribunal rulings.
Attention now shifts to the APC governorship primaries, where the incumbent governor Caleb Mutfwang faces a challenge from Yilchini Jan Bida for the keys to Little Rayfield Government House
