The Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State has raised an alarm over alleged plans by the State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) to exclude the party from the October, 2021 Local Government polls in the state.
Secretary of the PDP Caretaker Committee in the State, Patrick Ogbu, disclosed this during a press briefing in Jos and vowed that the party will resist such attemp by PLASIEC.

Ogbu, said the Caretaker Committee was drafted to the state following a court judgment that ordered fresh State Congress to elect officers of the party and on resumption, the committee invited PLASIEC to participate in their up coming local government party primaries but didn’t show up.
He noted that the PDP’s primaries were peacefully and promptly organized within the timetable and guidelines released by the state electoral empire.
In a swift reaction, the Commissioner Electoral Operation, PLASIEC, Patrick Mamgin, said their actions on the PDP became necessary following the Court Judgement that set aside the party’s state Exco.
The situation no doubt leaves much to be desired as the PDP maintained that PLASIEC wasn’t a party to the case that gave rise to the said Court order, adding that there is no order or injunction from court restraining PLASIEC from releasing nomination forms for it’s candidates.
