The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Bassey Ewah, says the Command has recorded 64 rape cases involving minors in the past three months.
He disclosed this while parading suspects arrested for various crimes at the Command Headquarters in Jos.
The Commissioner described the rate of sexual offences as alarming and called for a collective effort to curb the trend.
He also directed all Divisional Police Officers to arrest anyone attempting to interfere or plead on behalf of rape suspects.

Among those paraded were suspected Sara Suka gang members allegedly on their way to cause mayhem, as well as gun runners, arms manufacturers, impersonators, suspected terrorists, drug suppliers, and cultists.
The Police Commissioner further stated that members of the public are free to record police officers on duty, warning that any officer who resists being recorded while carrying out official duties risks dismissal.
