Plateau state government has proposed a budget of 139 billion naira for the 2023 fiscal year.
The budget, which is tagged “budget of infrastructural consolidation and transition,” seeks, among other things, to complete ongoing projects in the state before the current administration winds up.
Presenting the budget proposal before the state house of assembly members, governor Simon Lalong said the budget, which is about 38% higher than that of 2022, will ensure that ongoing projects in the state are completed before the end of his tenure.
In terms of subsectoral allocations, water, sanitation, and energy got about 24.27%, while tourism got 0.16%.

The Speaker of the State Assembly promised that the appropriation bill would be passed quickly after the relevant committees complete their reviews.
Plateau State’s governor thanked the house for its support over the years, as this will be the last time he performs this task.
