The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG, in charge of election duties for zone 14, Ahmed Abdulrahman, has assured voters in terror prone areas of Kaduna and Katsina States of their safety before, during and after the March 18 Governorship and the House Of Assembly polls.
AIG Abdulrahman who gave the assurance in Katsina said two zones have received additional reinforcement and operational vehicles, including a brand new Armoured Personnel Carrier, APC, from the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba.
Speaking to journalists at the Zone 14 Headquarters of the command, AIG Abdulrahman said the renewed attacks from terrorists in Zango Kataf and Kankara areas of Kaduna and Katsina States have only called for increased policing to ensure voters are not disenfranchised.

He said with the 2 new Hilux vans, an Armoured Personnel Carrier and other arms and ammunition provided by the Inspector-General of Police, residents will witness improved security of lives and property.
AIG Abdulrahman debunked claims by some politicians that the police are being used to intimidate their opponents and assured the people of Kaduna and Katsina States of a conducive atmosphere before, during and after the elections.
