Police Arrest 3 Suspects for Plucking minor’s eyes

The Police in Bauchi State have arrested as suspect a 32 years old man, Isaac Ezekiel from Rafin Zurfi, Yelwa, Bauchi Metropolitan and two others for allegedly plucking the eyes of a minor,
Uzairu Salisu in Jira mountains of Yelwa area of Bauchi Metropolitan in Bauchi State.

In a press statement issued by Police spokesman, Ahmed Wakil, the suspects voluntarily confessed to the crime.

A search of the house of the chief suspect by the Police led to the recovery of Salisu’s eyeballs.

Items recovered from the suspects included two human eyeballs in a calabash, cables used in perpetrating the act and a travelling bag containing some native medicines.

According to the Police, findings revealed that in April 2022, the principal suspect, Isaac Ezekiel, conspired with two other suspects to commit the crime of removing Salisu’s eyeballs.

The Police said on the 24th of June and at about 0900hrs, the principal suspect, Ezekiel lured his victim Salisu,16 years to a nearby bush for a casual job on his farm and strangled his victim with a cable into a coma and used a knife to remove his two eyes for suspected ritual purposes.

Police said further investigation is in on and that the suspects will be charged to court at the completion of the exercise.
