Police arrest members of seven-man criminal gang in Ogun State

OGUN

Ogun State Police Command, says a seven-man criminal gang that has been terrorising residents and kidnapping of travellers along Sagamu-Ijebu Ode Expressway has been arrested.

Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, who made this known on Friday said the arrested suspects include the leader of the group, Azeez Abolaji Alese and six others said to be responsible for the kidnapping of seven people between May and September, 2024 along the highway.

One Ogunaike Philip who has been alleged to have killed three of his victims in Ogun State has also been arrested.

Alamutu who also used the opportunity to update journalists on the incident of late Master Monday Arijo, who died after flogging by his teacher said investigation will soon be concluded.

He advised residents to be security conscious, especially when traveling.
