Over 300 persons have been taken into custody for profiling by the police in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
This follows raids conducted on identified criminal hideouts across various locations in the Territory.
The operation targeted identified crime flashpoints, shanties and uncompleted buildings across the Territory.
It is part of ongoing efforts by the Police to prevent crime, disrupt criminal activities and enhance the safety and security of residents.
The suspects are currently undergoing thorough screening and profiling.
Those found to have cases to answer will be charged to court in accordance with the law, while those cleared after screening will be released.
FCT Commissioner of Police, CP, Ahmed Sanusi, says the Command will sustain intelligence-led raids and proactive policing operations, particularly at locations identified as potential criminal hideouts across the Territory.
The CP also cautioned youths and other residents against the use and abuse of illicit drugs.
He warned that substance abuse can impair judgement, fuel violent and criminal behaviour, and expose individuals and communities to serious security risks.
Items recovered during the operation include knives, a toy gun, cannabis and other illicit drugs.
