Police in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, FCT, have arrested one suspect in connection with the murder and dismembering of a yet-to-be-identified suspected middle-aged lady, whose remains were discovered under a bridge, in the Kubwa area of Abuja.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Oduniyi Omotayo.

The statement said on the 20th of June, following the receipt of the information and sighting of the dismembered body around PW Bridge Kubwa, Police Crime Scene Investigators, (CSI), were drafted for necessary action.
The statement revealed that the bag-packed body parts were removed by the environmental health workers, as demanded by standards and best practices.
It said through intelligence gathering and painstaking efforts of the command’s tactical and intelligence assets attached to the Kubwa Division on the case, an arrest was made the same day.
The statement said the investigation so far has been progressive and intensified, to unravel other facts surrounding the incident.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Babaji Sunday, has assured the people of the territory of the command’s commitment to bring crime and criminality to the barest minimum in the Territory,
He also urged the residents to eschew the promulgation of fake news in all its forms and to partner with the police by giving concise, accurate and prompt information.
