The Police in Nasarawa State says it arrested the 43-year-old man suspected to be a drug merchant along Nasarawa-Toto road in the state.
In a statement by its Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel the arrest followed a tip-off.
Nansel explained that a Toyota Camry with two occupants was sighted heading to Nasarawa Toto axis, and reasonably suspected to be carrying criminals and illicit drugs.
Police personnel attached to Toto Division were strategically deployed to be on the lookout for the car and Consequently intercepted it at Gadabuke area of Toto LGA, Nasarawa state with the suspect and the exhibits.
The Commissioner of police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada has directed the Divisional Police officer of the area to transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia before eventual hand over to National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA for further investigation and prosecution.
