Police arrest teacher for defiling five pupils in Katsina State

The police have succeeded in arresting 25-year-old private school teacher, Umar Isah for allegedly sexually assaulting five female schoolchildren in his class whom he repeatedly lured into the toilet to fondle their private parts.

The incident occurred at Dutsi Local Government Area of Katsina State North-West Nigeria when four out of the five parents reported the matter at the Dutsi Divisional Police Office.

Spokesperson of the police, Superintendent Gambo Isah in a statement said, their investigations revealed that the suspect has abused several of the children in his class.

The statement reads in part: “On 10/11/2022 at about 1000hrs, the following persons namely Hussaina Rabe, Basira Umar, Khalid Ibrahim and Zainab Ibrahim all of Shargalle village, Dutsi LGA of Katsina state, jointly reported at Dutsi Division against one Umar Isah, ‘M’, aged 25yrs of Mashi LGA, a classroom teacher, that on different dates and time, the suspect took advantage of their daughters (names withheld) and lured them into the school’s toilet and inserted his finger into their private parts. In the course of the investigation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the offence. The investigation is ongoing.”

Meanwhile, the suspect who admitted to committing the crime explained that inside the classroom is a small room where he carried out the act.

According to him, “I take them inside the small room one after the other, remove their hijab and fondle with their private part.”

He further added that he is not under any spell or occult nor instructed by any herbalist or Mallam to do so rather, he just found himself doing it for pleasure.
