The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three members of a suspected interstate armed robbery syndicate responsible for a series of robbery attacks across Ondo and Lagos states.
The suspects were among the ten criminal suspects paraded at the Police Command Headquarters in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Monday.
State Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu said the suspects were arrested following credible intelligence and sustained surveillance.
He explained that operatives intercepted them while they were travelling in an ash-coloured vehicle.
The Commissioner said the suspects have made useful confessional statements, adding that efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang.
Items recovered from the suspects include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine loaded with 18 rounds of live ammunition, English-made pistol loaded with four rounds of live ammunition, one UTC axe, charms, and one iron cutter.
