A student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nnamdi Jeremiah from Umigwe village in Imo State has been arrested for the murder of a lecturer of the institution, Associate Professor Karl Kwaghger.
The university don was reportedly killed on November 28 in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Sewuese Anene confirmed that the suspect was arrested in Abuja where he went to sell the car of the deceased.

“The suspect confessed to the crime adding that his initial intension was to threaten the victim with a make believe gun and rob him of his car but he ended up killing him because he resisted”, she added.
Anene says investigation is however still in progress.
