A Village head and ten other bandits have been arrested by the Police at Tungar Iliya Forest in Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State.
Their arrest followed long hours of exchange of fire between the bandits and the Police team.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, said that, five members of the bandits were injured during the gun duel.
The Village Head of Tungar Iliya and a woman, Sumayya Bello, were arrested for harbouring and giving information to the bandits.

The statement adds that the Police will not relent in its efforts to arrest all bandit members of the Tungar Iliya Forest.
