Suspected bandits have kidnapped five people after launching attacks on six communities in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
The bandits were said to have attacked on Christmas Eve on the six communities in Gurmana District of the Local Government.
AIT gathered that the gunmen rode on motorcycles, shooting sporadically as they arrived the communities in the early hours of the day.
The affected villages are Sundna Guto, Gbaja, Fiyi, Kuchiwyi and Rongo.
The gunmen kidnapped one person in each of the communities of Fiyi and Kuchiwyi, while four were kidnapped in Rongo villages.
One of the kidnapped persons was released for undisclosed reasons.
Several persons sustained injuries as the attackers caught them unawares.

Property were looted while new farm produce like rice, beans, guinea corn and maize were destroyed by the bandits.
