Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Abdullahi Wuse, has tested positive for Covid-19.
Wuse was tested for the disease along with some other members of the House of Assembly.
The actual number of the members that have tested positive for the virus has not been made public.
The Speaker went into self isolation, shortly after the confirmation of his test result.
Member representing Bida State Constituency, Muhammad Haruna, has confirmed the report about the positive result of the Assembly Speaker.
Haruna explained that two weeks ago, the member representing Gurara State Constituency, Binta Mamman also tested positive for Covid-19.

The result of the female lawmaker made it compulsory for all members and the staff of the State Assembly to undergo the Covid-19 test.
