The Nigeria Police have foiled an attempt by suspected criminals dressed in military uniform this Wednesday to kidnap their victims in Ajaokuta Area of Kogi State.
The suspects numbering five had blocked the road and stopped vehicles in their attempt to kidnap passengers, before the men of the Anti-Crime Patrol team of the Nigerian Police swooped on them and engaged them in fierce gun battle.
Two of the criminals were killed while three others escaped into the bush with gunshot injuries.

The Police PRO in Lokoja, Williams Aya, who confirmed the incident to ait.live said that his Squad has been combing the bush around the location of incidence to arrest the culprits.
Aya said that items recovered from the criminals include two wooden AK47, 25 assorted GSM handsets, one First Bank ATM card in the name of Mohammed Jamiu, and an undisclosed sum of money.
In a reaction, the Kogi State Government had praised the gallantry and swift response of the security forces, who are ever poised to secure the state from criminal elements.
Governor Yahaya Bello through his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammed Onogwu, appealed to the citizens to go about their normal businesses as the state is battle ready to confront criminal elements and other related shenanigans.
