Police operatives have foiled a kidnap attempt on a prominent chief at Ogume community in Ndokwa-East Local Government Area of Delta State, South-South Nigeria.
Commander of the special police squad, SP Usman Dimka, in a statement said the foiled operation was successful following an intelligence report that also led to arrest of the suspected leader of the syndicate, 27-year-old Chukwuemeka Ochu. He added that investigation is ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang.
Meanwhile, operatives of the Eagle Squad have also arrested some suspected armed robbers at other operations within the state. Items recovered from them include a stolen vehicle, one pump action gun, two locally made guns and six cartridges.
