Police have arrested 11 suspected members of the Eiye Confraternity and foiled a planned attack within the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH student community in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, South-West Nigeria.
According to the Command, operatives from the Violent Crime Response Unit acted on credible intelligence that the group had gathered in the Under-G, Yuako, and Adenike areas to coordinate violence. The swift operation led to the arrest of the suspects before any attack was carried out.
All 11 arrested are students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. Items recovered from them include four locally made pistols, 11 live cartridges, one expended cartridge, two cult axes, a cutlass, a dagger, and a red cult hood.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, commended the operatives for their prompt action and said investigations are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members. He added that the suspects will be charged to court at the end of investigations.
The Command urged residents to continue providing timely information to help curb cultism and violent crime in the state.
