The Police in Ebonyi State has released a statement confirming the arrest of two prime suspects in connection with a disturbing viral video in which two teenage girls were dehumanised.

Dennis Ali and Ituma Sunday, are answering questions on what they know about the circulating video where they were allegedly captured on camera torturing the teenage girls after stripping them stark naked.

The girls said to be between 15 and 16 year old were stripped, flogged, and dehumanised at a rural Ojiegbe Ngbo community in Ohaukwu LGA of Ebonyi State, after the teenagers were accused of stealing fowl.

The 59 seconds video said to have been recorded in November 2023, surfaced on the social Media, and has attracted wide public condemnation. especially from both Human Rights groups and Girl’s rights advocates, prompting Police action one year after the incident happened.

The Command spokesman, DSP Joshua Ukandu in a Press statement issued on Tuesday in Abakaliki said the new Commissioner of Police, Anthonia Adaku Uche-Anya who was not incharge of the Ebonyi State Command at the time of the incident, has ordered for a full and thorough investigation of the incident.
