The Zamfara State Police Command says it has arrested three suspected members of an armed criminal gang allegedly terrorising residents of Kasuwan Daji in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of the State.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Yazid Abubakar, operatives of the Command’s Violence Crime Response Unit (VCRU), acting on credible intelligence, carried out the operation on May 29, 2026.

The statement noted that the gang had been on the Command’s watchlist over its alleged involvement in several criminal activities within the area.
During the operation, police operatives arrested three suspects identified as Ali Bahago of Danakulu via Kasuwan Daji, Hassan Dan Kure of Kasuwan Daji, and Dahiru Lawali of Gidan Ango.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are members of an armed criminal syndicate allegedly led by Ali Bahago, who has been linked to a number of criminal activities in the area.
The police further disclosed that one member of the gang was neutralised during the operation, while a search conducted at the residence of the alleged gang leader led to the recovery of several exhibits.
The suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
The Command says efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing members of the gang and recover additional exhibits connected to their activities.
