Police receive 11 repentant kidnappers in Adamawa State

The Adamawa State Police Command says it has received 11 repentant kidnappers terrorising residents of Girei and Song Local Government Areas of the State.

The 11 kidnappers, who voluntarily surrendered their arms, confessed to be the ones abducting the inhabitants of Girei and Song Local Government Areas

The rate of kidnapping in Girei Local Government Area has become a major concern in the State.

The news of 11 repentant kidnappers surrendering can be said to have brought a sigh of relief for the people.

According to the State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Madaki, the 11 kidnappers willingly came forward to surrender and submit themselves to the Chairman of Miyetti Allah Association, who in turn brought them to the police.

The Command says, from the month of February to March this year, a total of 71 suspects were arrested for kidnapping, banditry, rape and other crimes

Weapons recovered from the apprehended suspects include 13 AK 47 rifles, 761 rounds of live ammunition,18 magazines, cutlasses, large quantities of hard drugs and 5 locally made pistols.
