Police in Katsina State say they have rescued 9 human trafficking victims in Daura Local Government Area of the state.
Police spokesman Gambo Isah in a statement, said the victims were all females aged between 19 and 32, adding that they are from Lagos, Edo, Ondo, Kaduna, Ogun, and Enugu states.
According to the statement, “On September 29, at about 1600hrs, based on credible intelligence, the command raided a criminal hideout at the Daura Local Government Area, and rescued the 9 victims of human trafficking”.
The police spokesman also said that in the course of the investigation, the victims said they were conveyed from Kano State to Daura by a driver, who on sighting the police team, abandoned them and took to his heels.
