Nine Passengers abducted in Cross River State have been rescued by operatives of the State Police Command
Confirming the rescue of the travellers along Calabar-Ugep road on Wednesday evening, State Police Commissioner, Sule Balarabe Saif says the rescued passengers have been reunited with there families.
He said the passengers were robbed of their belongings, insisting that the criminals were local armed robbers and not Fulani herders as being alleged in some quarters and called for calm from residents, saying the security of Cross River State under his watch is guaranteed, and called on the public to continue to assist the police with useful information.

The Police Commissioner also warned against the peddling inflammatory information, capable of creating fear.
The nine travellers were abducted on Tuesday by armed men along the Calabar-Ikom highway in Cross River State
