The police say efforts are being made to rescue an unspecified number persons abducted by gunmen at Kuchukore area of Byazin in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Large number of gun men had on Friday invaded an estate situated on the outskirt of Kubwa in Abuja abducting unspecified number of the habitants of the community.
While some members of the community who escaped being abducted said not fewer than 15 persons were abducted, the police in a statement signed by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh confirmed that over nine persons were abducted
The people said the gunmen escaped with the victims through the forests linking the community to Paze village.

Meanwhile a team of policemen from the Byzahin Division and Kubwa Area Command have been deployed to the area to ensure safe release of the victims.
Adeh also confirmed that both the police and the vigilante were combing the bush for traces of the abductors with a view to rescue the victims
The Command is urging the residents to remain calm and assist with useful information that could lead to arrest of these criminals.
