Saturday’s Local Government election in Benue was marred by poor logistics which affected arrival of materials and officials to most polling units visited within Makurdi the State capital.
The exercise however picked up in the afternoon with voters eventually exercising their franchise.
In other areas visited in Guma local government area, the process seemed hitch free.

Chairman State Independent Electoral commission BSIEC Terlumun Tombowua said voting was decentralised to polling units across the State with adequate security as well as materials deployed.
Although voting commenced late and there was low turn out in some areas, other locations particularly in the rural areas witnessed great turnout but on the whole the process was relatively free of any violent incident.
