President Bola Tinubu has forwarded a request to the Senate seeking confirmation of a ministerial nominee in line with Section 147(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
In a correspondence read during plenary, the President nominated Mutaga Rabe Dama for appointment as a minister.
He urged the Senate to give the request expeditious consideration, while extending his regards to the Senate President and lawmakers.
The President of the Senate referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for consideration as soon as practicable.
If confirmed, the nominee is expected to join the Federal Executive Council following a recent cabinet reshuffle.
