President Bola Tinubu says he remains determined to leave Nigeria better than he met it.

The Nigerian leader told members of his party, the All Progressives Congress, who converged on Abuja to ratify his victory in presidential primaries held across the country on Saturday, that getting a second term in next year’s election presents that opportunity.

Tinubu’s landslide victory in the APC presidential primary was affirmed at the event.

Party leaders, APC governors and delegates gathered at the venue as results from across the federation were formally presented to the Presidential Primary Election Committee chaired by former Senate President Pius Anyim.

At the end of the exercise, President Bola Tinubu emerged victorious after polling 10.99 million votes, while his only challenger, Stanley Osifo, scored 16,504 votes.

The exercise, which held across 8,809 wards nationwide, saw APC governors and state coordinators present collation figures from their respective states in line with the party’s direct primary structure.

Speaking on the outcome, APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, described the process as a demonstration of internal democracy and unity within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 elections.

In his acceptance speech, President Tinubu described his emergence as another milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey, noting that the task ahead is to deepen reforms and strengthen national development.

He highlighted key achievements of his administration in education, infrastructure, power and economic reforms, including the student loan scheme, improved electricity generation and the removal of fuel subsidy.

The president also acknowledged ongoing economic and security challenges, assuring Nigerians that his administration would remain focused on stability, national unity and development.
