President Bola Tinubu has signed into law the Appropriation Amendment No. 4 Bill, 2025, extending the implementation of the 2025 budget from September 30, 2026 to December 31, 2026.
The extension followed the swift passage of the amendment by the Senate and House of Representatives on Tuesday, September 29.
The Presidency says the extension will give Ministries, Departments and Agencies more time to complete ongoing capital projects and ensure that already appropriated funds are fully utilised for the benefit of Nigerians.
According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu commended the National Assembly for the prompt consideration of the bill, describing it as a further sign of cooperation between the Executive and Legislature in the service of the nation.
