President Bola Tinubu has praised Nigeria’s frontline security personnel for their courage and sacrifices in the ongoing fight against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other security threats across the country.

In a message posted on his official X handle, the President described members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies as the shield protecting innocent citizens from those seeking to undermine the nation’s peace and stability.

Tinubu acknowledged the difficult conditions under which troops operate, noting that security personnel continue to serve in forests, on roads, at forward operating bases, in the air, and across waterways and challenging terrains to keep Nigerians safe.

He commended their resilience and dedication despite the pressures and sacrifices associated with the fight against insecurity, assuring them that their service is valued and appreciated by the country.

The President also extended his gratitude to officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, DSS; Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC; intelligence agencies, local security formations, and other security operatives working tirelessly to protect lives and property.

Tinubu further recognised the sacrifices made by the families of security personnel, many of whom endure long periods of separation and uncertainty due to the demands of duty.

Paying tribute to fallen heroes, the President said the courage of those who paid the supreme price in defence of the country lives on through the communities they helped protect and the lives they saved.

He stressed that defeating terrorism and violent crime requires collective national effort, urging citizens to support security agencies with timely and credible information.

According to him, Nigerians must remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to relevant authorities, noting that public cooperation is crucial to winning the fight against insecurity.

The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling terrorism and other security challenges, declaring that Nigeria would not surrender to fear or allow terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and violent extremists to define the country’s future.

He concluded by thanking frontline personnel for their vigilance, courage, and service, while praying for their safety as they continue to defend the country.
