President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primary Election in Delta State, polling 407,646 votes in the exercise conducted across all the wards in the 25 local government areas of the state.
The result was announced on Saturday in Asaba by Delta State Governor and State Coordinator and Returning Officer of the APC Presidential Primary Election, Sheriff Oborevwori, following the collation of results from across the state.
According to the governor, President Tinubu got over four hundred thousand votes to overwhelmingly defeat his only challenger, Stanley Osifo, who polled zero votes.
Governor Oborevwori commended party members and stakeholders for ensuring a peaceful and orderly exercise across Delta State, describing the process as successful and reflective of internal party unity.
Speaking after the announcement, Delta State APC Chairman Solomon Arenyeka expressed appreciation to party members for the smooth conduct of the primary process.
The presidential primary concludes the APC’s internal electoral process ahead of preparations for the next phase of the party’s political activities.
