The Abia State Governor Alex Otti has inaugurated a judicial Panel of inquiry on the recovery of properties and funds belonging to the state government .
Inaugurating the panel in government house Umuahia,Otti observed that his administration has been experiencing difficulties in accessing government properties, which will usually be available to continue with the business of governance.

The Governor recalled that his administration experienced a very hostile handover situation which made it difficult for the government to hit the ground running on the 29th of May, as anticipated.
Otti charged the members among other things, to examine and ascertain whether government assets and funds have been illegally acquired and converted to private use and identify the persons responsible.
The Chairman of the panel Justice Ikwuoma Duruoha -Igwe pledged to discharge his duties as quickly as possible.
Recall that there has been allegation of looting of government property by the last administration.
