Niger Delta Students Union Government from the states in the region participating in a 2-day intensive workshop on the Petroleum Industry Act, (PIA), in Benin City on Wednesday protested over alleged sharp practices by the management of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Ltd, (NPDC).
The participants blocked the entrance of the company for several hours, thereby preventing entry and exit.
The protesters said they were protesting to ask the NPDC management to give them their due as captured in the blueprint for the training.
They accused the company of shortchanging them of what is due to each participant for the training.

Some of the things they accused the management of include, the reduction of their training stipends and the removal of laptops from the bag presented to them.
The management of NPDC is yet to react to the allegations levelled against it by the Niger Delta Students Union Government.
