Paris Saint-Germain, PSG, have been crowned French Ligue 1 champions for a record 14th time after defeating title rivals Lens to secure the trophy with one game remaining in the season.
PSG, who needed only a draw to clinch the title, sealed victory with goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and substitute Ibrahim Mbaye at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.
The triumph also marks PSG’s fifth consecutive league title and their 12th championship in the last 14 seasons, further underlining their dominance in French football.
PSG manager, Luis Enrique described the title as the toughest during his three-year spell at the club, praising Lens for mounting a strong challenge throughout the campaign.
PSG will wrap up their league campaign away to rivals Paris FC on Sunday before turning attention to the UEFA Champions League final against Premier League leaders, Arsenal on May 30, as they aim to retain their European crown.
Meanwhile, Lens will shift focus to the Coupe de France final against Nice on May 22.
