The Action Peoples Party (APP) has called on Nigerians to take advantage of the early distribution of permanent voter cards by the Independent National Electoral Commission towards preparing for the 2027 general election
A statement by the party’s National Chairman, Uchenna Nnadi, described the Professor Joash Amupitan led INEC’s early preparations for the exercise as commendable, citing the announcement of Oyo State PVCs collection exercise in October
The party chairman, through the statement, noted that the exercise, which is targeted at new voters, is an important indication that INEC is putting the necessary administrative structures in place ahead of the 2027 elections.
Nnadi also called on Nigerians who still have uncollected PVCs from previous electoral exercises to use the opportunity provided by INEC to collect them, noting that the Commission has disclosed that a significant number of old PVCs remain uncollected in Oyo State.
The party pledged support for initiatives that promote voter participation, transparency, and confidence in the electoral process, urging INEC to maintain its engagement with political parties and other stakeholders as preparations for the 2027 elections take shape.
