The Federal Government has given Contractors three weeks ultimatum to Complete and Commence train operation on the Lagos- Apapa Corridor.

The Minister of Transportation Saidu Alkali who made this known on the Second day of the Inspection of Lagos -Ibadan and Kano Maradi Railway Modernisation Project Wednesday in Lagos said the undertaking by the Railway Corporation of the completion and operation of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Train Station within three weeks should be strictly adhered to.

The Minister Added that the unimplemented Presidential Approval for the upward review of special allowances of Nigerian Railway personnel would be carefully monitored to ensure compliance.

He also sent a strong wake up call to the contractors with ongoing scattered projects across the country to meet up deadlines as the government is committed to the overhauling of a modern rail system with capacity to provide efficient, affordable and sustainable services, which is professionally managed by the Nigerian Railway Corporation and other stakeholders.
