Following the Court of Appeal judgement that discharged the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu of terrorism and treasonable charges, some residents of Owerri, the Imo State capital have applauded the decision of the appellate court, urging the Federal government to do the needful and immediately release the IPOB leader from the facility of the DSS.

Meanwhile, the Federal government is reacting to the judgment of the Court of Appeal, saying the IPOB leader was only discharged but not acquitted, as government will explore all legal options to address gray areas in the Court of Appeal judgement.
