The Redemption ambassadors of Nigeria, RAN, has kick started a campaign for a proposed bill on too- old- to- run for political offices across Nigeria to give room for mentoring and equipping young Nigerians with the power to steer the affairs of the nation.
Addressing journalists in Abuja to begin the campaign, the convener, Bishop Omokiri said some sections of the bill puts age limit at 70 to contest for political office.
Some Human rights activists said the group is ready to compel the 10th National Assembly session within the ambit of the law to pass the bill to Enable the youths to lead the country at energetic age.
The groups said they are determined to ensure the bill scales through for presidential assent to record success as the “not too young to run” act and promised to take the campaign to all the 774 local government areas across the country to sensitize the youths for productive results.
