The Central Bank of Nigeria held a campaign to sensitize residents of the Plateau State capital, Jos on the introduction of the redesigned currency notes and ensure that banks are dispensing them
The monitoring team from the Central Bank of Nigeria took journalists round some ATM points to assess the level of compliance.
Most of the points visited were dispensing redesigned notes in 1000, 500 and 200 naira denominations.

The team moved to the business community at the building materials market in Jos, where they engaged traders on the new development, taking time to explain the new features on the notes and other areas that required clarification.
Top on the list of concerns raised by the traders was the durability of the new notes .
The Central Bank of Nigeria insists there will be no extension beyond the 31st January 2023 deadline for the total implementation of the redesigned currency note policy.
