Following reduced insecurity in Southern Kaduna, farmers in the zone are optimistic about improved yields this farming season.

They also pray against any challenge that could affect their crops.

Over the years, insecurity has severely affected farm yields in Kaduna State, forcing many farmers to abandon their fields. Southern Kaduna, in particular, has experienced its share of insecurity, with farmers often fleeing their farms to ensure safety.

Lack of mechanical input has also posed challenges, significantly hindering agricultural productivity in the region. However, there is renewed hope among the farming community this season and due to notable reduction in insecurity, farmers are optimistic on achieving a bumper harvest.

Echoing the farmers’ sentiments, Senator Sunday Katung, representing Southern Kaduna, distributed fertilizer to farming community in the zone. He noted that the current situation is expected to boost agricultural output and improve food security in the region.

The farmers are hopeful that with the reduced insecurity and the provision of essential agricultural inputs, they will witness a significant improvement in their farm yields this season.
