The Omoyele Sowore-led RevolutionNow has staged another in its latest set of protests.
Its members took to the streets of Abuja again on Tuesday against the much-touted planned hike in electricity tariffs.
This is coming a week after the release of the co-convener, Omoyele Sowore from police custody, accused of assembling an unlawful gathering on New Year’s Eve to kick against what it described as bad governance.
Sowore spent nearly 10 days in police custody for protesting on the streets of Abuja and using social media to call for demonstrations across the country under the banner #endbadgovernaceinnigeria.
Members of the Revolutionnow again took to the streets of Abuja at different locations to evade security operatives, protesting against electricity tariff increases, purportedly planned by 11 distribution companies.

Amid, tariff increase rumors, the federal government directed the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and all Distribution Companies to revert to electricity tariffs applicable in December 2020 until January 2021 when the committee set up by the government and organized labour to look into the tariff issue would have concluded its work.
It also dismissed reports in sections of the media of a 50% increase in tariff as untrue.
