Nigerian Civil Rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to disclose the names of the 27 officers it dismissed for corrupt practices.

Deji who said this in a statement on Thursday, commended the Chairman of the anti-graft body, Ola Olukoyede for his style of leadership in the Commission and advised that the dismissed officers be prosecuted to serve as a deterrent.

The Rights activist said there have been allegations of corruption, abuses of power and other unethical practices within the EFCC and its ranks, which should be absolutely unheard of, for an Agency entrusted with the vital responsibility of fighting economic crimes in Nigeria.

He noted that only by reinforcing the core values of the Commission can Nigeria truly rely on the EFCC as a credible force in the fight against corruption.

The lawyer called on Nigerians to support the EFCC and the war against corruption, economic and financial crimes in the country.

The EFCC HE had dismissed from its workforce 27 Officers for alleged fraudulent activities and gross misconducts, an action the Commission said followed the recommendation of a disciplinary committee and ratified by the chairman of the anti corruption agency.
